The very first bite there is a bit of a sour punch to them that makes your mouth pucker then sort of mellows out. I was shocked by these since they're a fermented pickle with this much flavor, and usually, in my experience, fermented pickles are bland to me, but not these!
There's a prominent garlic taste, despite only being one bulb of garlic in it. This garlic is not subtle, is you're a garlic girly you will like these.
The garlic has a blue color to it, but I ate it anyways and it was tasty and strong and notable in all the pickles. Later I looked it up and learned that garlic has sulfur compounds and allenase enzymes that turn blue when you add acid.
Really nice dill flavor and that strong garlic kick that compliment each other.
The skin is just a little more firm than I like but not bad. The meat was just the right amount of firm but soft.
Can't get over the flavor of these for a fermented pickle! I assumed all fermented pickles were just more bland than canned pickles bit these have proven that fermented pickles can be just as, if not more, flavorful.
The jar was very hard to open! Not sure how they were sealed but i did fight with getting these open. Not a bad thing but did want to mention it.
